The Savoy Stompers is a performance group of authentic jazz dancers.
The group specialises in a dance style called Lindy Hop, which is a social dance originating in America in the 1930s. You may be more familiar with the term Jitterbug or Swing.

The Savoy Stompers was formed in May 2004 when there were just 6 dancers, who came together to celebrate the anniversary of VE day. Recently the group has expanded to now include 11 dancers.

The members of the group live and work across the East Midlands, and are part of the group as voluntary members. All the Savoy Stompers dance and teach Lindy hop and other authentic jazz dance styles locally.
